Is the Hybrid the perfect UK Shortboard
Quick answer YES! The Hybrid shortboard is definitely one of the best types of board to ride in the UK Waves.
Why? Well our waves are not always the best we suffer from infrequent bursts of wind and Ground swell on manly shifting sands. To cope with this you need a surfboard that will deliver a good session when the waves are not so good. However there has to be enough performance in the board to still be able to shred when needed.
Our Hybrid features
Riding a board with to much rocker or not enough volume can be frustrating. That’s why at Surf Punk we have given you a Hybrid that has features from a Shortboard and a Performance Fish surfboard. A blend of both DNA to glide through your session. The slightly wider Fish style template with swallow tail keeps the board flowing. While the Shortboard style Rails and bottom contours give the board it’s snappy maneuverability.
In keeping with what would suit our Surf conditions the Boards Rocker is slightly lower in the nose to suit early wave catching. However we have given it performance shortboard rocker through the tail for maximum turning power in steeper waves. We have also added the 5 fin setup for either Quad fins or Thruster fins to suit your riding style. All this together gives you a surfboard that will deliver a great session whatever the conditions.
